Tiered link building is not news. But it remains one of the most popular strategies to this day. Experienced SEOs can safely skip what is written below.
What is tiered link building?
And if someone missed it or is new here, we remind you of the essence: Tiered Link Building is a process where, instead of pointing all links directly to your site, you build links to the links themselves.
Schematically, it looks like this:
- First level (Tier 1). Only high-quality links from trusted donors leading to your acceptor.
- Second level (Tier 2). Links from “cheaper” donors that lead to the first-level links.
- Third level (Tier 3). Even simpler links that work for level 2.
And, believe it or not, you can build more than three levels 🙂 The main thing is not to confuse the scheme.
Tiered link building for website promotion
Why has this worked, worked effectively, and will it be useful in any strategy?
- Increases the authority of first-level links. When you power up Tier-1 links, they become more authoritative and pass more link weight to your site. Accordingly, you will get much more profit from such a donor.
- Reduces risks. And such a profile looks more natural. With such a system, a “search engine” “sees” a structure similar to organic growth.
You can use automated tools for this, but if you do it crudely, you can get into trouble for it.
Where to get tier 2 and tier 3 links
In our practice, two types are ideal for second-level links:
- Inexpensive guest posts — not a bad solution.
- Links from homepages — ideal, greater profit. This is especially relevant if you need to squeeze out the maximum and quickly.
Reminder: RankExplore has links from homepages. And guest posts too. You can try the RankExplore manual below.
